Common questions about our driving lessons for teens

When are driving lessons available?

Lessons are available 7 Days A Week; 8 am – 6 pm.

 

Do I use my car for my teen's driving lessons?

No. All lessons are in our vehicle which comes equipped with additional safety mirrors and an instructor’s brake.

 

Do you offer an online course for teens?

Yes, we offer a 30-Hour Online Driving Instruction Course for teens. We also offer an online course for parents to help coach their teenagers better.

How can I reduce my car insurance rates?

You will receive a certificate of completion after six hours of Behind the Wheel Lessons.

Do you offer door-to-door service?

Yes. We will pick up the student at school, home, or even work. We understand how busy schedules can be and we try to be as accommodating as possible.

How long are the driving lessons?

Typically, lessons are ninety minutes long.

Are driving lessons canceled due to bad weather?

Weather cancelations are at the discretion of Safe Driving Coach. If we deem the weather is unsafe, we will notify you prior to the lesson.

 

How do I pay for my teen's driving lessons?

Credit cards and PayPal are accepted for the $75 non-refundable deposit. Cash, check, and Venmo are accepted for the remaining balances. All lessons must be paid for in advance or at the time of the first lesson.

What must I or my teen bring or wear to the driving lesson?

  • Original copy of Driver's License Permit (No copies!)

  • Not having a permit will result in a forfeit of the lesson and a $95 cancellation fee.

  • Dress comfortably.

  • No sandals or flip-flops; only closed-toe shoes

 

What is your Cancellation Policy?
There is a $95.00 cancellation fee when lessons are canceled with less than 48 hours notice. No shows will also result in a nonrefundable forfeit of a lesson

 

How do I get started?

You must obtain a PA Learner's Permit. Then, on the Driving Lessons Page, choose the service you need, click on Start Registration and follow the directions on the screen.

 

What is the process to obtain a PA Learner's Permit?

Please review "Get a Driver License" information provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation 

 

What does the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania require before I can take my driver's test?

65 Hours supervised behind-the-wheel skill-building, including no less than ten (10) hours of nighttime driving and five (5) hours of bad weather driving. Supervising adult must be age 21 or older. Read more about whether Pennsylvania requires drivers ed before getting a driver's license here.

 

Is Safe Driving Coach licensed and insured?

Absolutely. Safe Driving Coach is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to perform the driving instruction. In addition, extensive background checks and clearances have been conducted. Safe Driving Coach maintains mandated automobile and liability insurance.

 

How do I schedule the driver’s test at the DMV?

How do I enroll my teen in your program?

On the Driving Lessons Page, choose the service you need, click on Start Registration and follow the directions on the screen.
