FAQs About Driving Lessons
Credit cards are accepted for the $75 non-refundable deposit. Credit cards, cash, check, and Venmo are accepted for the remaining balances. All lessons must be paid for in advance or at the time of the first lesson.
Original copy of Driver's License Permit (No copies or pictures!)
Not having a permit will result in a forfeit of the lesson and or $95 cancellation fee.
Dress comfortably.
No sandals or flip-flops; only closed-toe shoes
You must obtain a PA Learner's Permit. Then, on the Driving Lessons Page, choose the service you need, click on Start Registration and follow the directions on the screen.
There is a $95.00 cancellation fee when lessons are canceled with less than 48 hours notice. No shows will also result in a nonrefundable forfeit of a lesson.
You will receive a certificate of completion after (4) lessons or six hours of Behind the Wheel Lessons. We also have a 30 hour online course that could potentially help the cost. It’s best to speak to your insurance agent to see what the best strategy is.
Weather cancellations are at the discretion of the Safe Driving Coach team. If we deem the weather is unsafe, we will notify you prior to the lesson.
Typically, lessons are ninety minutes long.
Yes, we offer a 30-Hour Online Driving Instruction Course for teens. We also offer an online course for parents to help coach their teenagers better. You can check out our Parents Survival Guide here.
Yes. We will pick up the students within the area we cover at school, home, or even work. We understand how busy schedules can be, and we try to be as accommodating as possible.

No. All lessons are in our vehicles, which come equipped with additional safety mirrors and an instructor’s brake on the passenger side floor.

65 Hours supervised behind-the-wheel skill-building, including no less than ten (10) hours of nighttime driving and five (5) hours of inclement weather driving. The supervising adult must be age 21 or older with a valid drivers license. Read more about whether Pennsylvania requires drivers ed before getting a driver's license here.
Absolutely. Safe Driving Coach is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to perform the driving instruction. In addition, extensive background checks and clearances have been conducted. Safe Driving Coach maintains mandated automobile and liability insurance.
