When it comes to being a safe driver, there's a lot that goes into it.
You've got to always be paying attention - looking in front of you; checking your mirrors; having that awareness of what's going on.
This week, October 20 - 26 is National Teen Driver Safety Week. It's a week dedicated to raising awareness and seeking solutions to prevent teen injuries and death out on the road. You'll probably see some articles or posts on social media about it. If you have a teenager, CHOP suggests that you just take a moment just to have a conversation with them about what it means to be a safe driver.
Now, what does this week mean to me?
It means that by teaching new teen drivers (whether it's me as a coach or parents teaching their own children) the safe, defensive driving skills, maybe we can save a life.
